Experience the Perseids Meteor Showers in the remote backcountry of Southwest Nova Scotia's Starlight Reserve. 2026 offers ideal viewing of the Perseids Meteor Shower, peaking August 12th-13th, under a moonless sky. The Perseids peak can showcase up to 100 meteors per hour, are often colorful, bright and leave persistent trains. This adventure begins with a 2.5km paddle to our base campsite, where participants will have sometime to enjoy lunch, set your campsite and enjoy the natural surroundings. The rest of the day will be dedicated to paddling, exploring remote beaches and hidden locations, foraging for editable wilds foods to incorporate into our meals and for making wild tea. In the evening, guests will be served a thoughtfully prepared meal featuring wild-foraged and locally sourced ingredients, followed by some well deserved time to rest & relax before enjoying the meteor show in the night sky! The meteor showers best viewing is from 12am-5am, making this a great opportunity to sleep under the stars. Refreshments and warm drinks will be available during this time. The following morning, participants are encouraged to leisurely enjoy the campsite—whether by resting, rising early, savoring a freshly prepared breakfast and morning coffee or tea, swimming, paddling, fishing, or simply relaxing in nature. After the morning's activities, the group will embark on further paddling and exploration before returning to camp to pack and begin the journey home. All necessary gear and equipment are provided, including SUP/canoe with accessories, sleeping set (tent, sleeping bag, and 4” mattress), and a 75-liter waterproof bag. The package includes four meals, beverages, and light snacks. Dietary requests and restrictions are gladly accommodated.
